A Home Care Routine That Actually Works

Almost every pair that arrives at the atelier in poor condition got there the same way: nothing was done for months, and then everything was attempted at once.

Five minutes after each wear is worth more than an hour of rescue work later.

The routine

  1. Brush off dry dust before it becomes wet dirt. Dry dirt lifts away; wet dirt sets into the material.

  2. Treat marks the same day. A fresh mark sits on the surface; an old one has moved into the fibre.

  3. Dry at room temperature, away from radiators and direct sun, with the shoe held in shape.

  4. Rotate your pairs. Shoes need a day to dry out internally; wearing the same pair daily shortens its life more than anything else on this list.

  5. Re-protect after every deep clean, and periodically in between.

A small kit is enough

  • A soft brush for uppers and a firmer one for soles.

  • Two clean microfibre cloths — one damp, one dry.

  • A gentle cleaning solution made for footwear, not a household detergent.

  • A water and stain repellent for the final step.

The mistakes worth avoiding

The washing machine. Bleach and household cleaners. Drying on a radiator. Scrubbing suede while it is wet. Each of these turns a small problem into a permanent one.

The last step matters most

Protection is what makes the rest of the routine hold. Jalloh Invisible Shield is applied to a clean, dry surface in an even fine mist, then left to cure before the shoes are worn again. It is designed to create an invisible barrier that helps repel water, moisture, dirt and everyday stains.

Rain happens. Be ready.
